Uptown Eye Specialists is committed to providing an accessible website and services for all patients, visitors, and members of our community. As part of U Vision Group, Ontario’s most comprehensive eye care family serving patients across 4 GTA locations, we strive to meet or exceed the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

What We Are Doing
We are actively working to ensure our website and digital communications meet accessibility standards. Our efforts include:

Accessible Facilities
Our clinic locations across the Greater Toronto Area — including Brampton, Vaughan, Scarborough, and Etobicoke — are designed to accommodate patients with disabilities. Accessible features include wheelchair-accessible entrances, examination rooms equipped for patients with mobility challenges, and staff trained in providing assistance to patients with diverse needs.

Applicable Legislation
- Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) — Ontario legislation establishing accessibility standards across multiple sectors including healthcare.
- Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR) — Requires organizations to make their websites and web content conform to WCAG 2.0 Level AA. Uptown Eye Specialists targets the more current WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard.
- Ontario Human Rights Code — Protects the right of persons with disabilities to equal treatment with respect to services, goods, and facilities.
