Integrated Expertise Across Every Subspecialty

With over 500,000 patients seen and more than 100,000 cataract surgeries completed, Uptown Eye Specialists brings together one of the largest and most experienced groups of board-certified ophthalmologists in the Greater Toronto Area. Our physicians hold academic teaching faculty appointments at leading GTA university departments of ophthalmology, including Toronto Metropolitan University School of Medicine, and maintain active clinical privileges at regional hospitals including William Osler Health System, Humber River Hospital, North York General Hospital, and Michael Garron Hospital.

Our clinical culture is built on research we generate ourselves. Collectively, our team has authored over 430 peer-reviewed publications indexed in PubMed, spanning cataract outcomes, glaucoma treatment, retinal disease, oculoplastic surgery, and clinical trial leadership. As Canada’s highest-volume ReLACS centre with a published outcomes study of over 3,000 cases, we bring evidence-led decision-making to every patient interaction. Our vitreoretinal team includes faculty at the Toronto Western Hospital Retina Clinic, one of Canada’s leading retinal surgery centres.

We don’t just practice — we teach. Two of our physicians are recipients of a prestigious Silver Needle Award for excellence in surgical teaching, and our team includes active clinical educators who train the next generation of ophthalmologists and optometrists. Our commitment to advancing eye care extends beyond our clinics: several of our physicians volunteer their time and expertise through FORSEE Canada, an independent non-profit foundation dedicated to research, education, and global eye care outreach — including surgical training missions abroad.
